I study how people engage with entertainment media, and how that’s changing now that algorithms shape and personalize much of what we watch. My work uses data science approaches, often drawing on large-scale data and situational surveys of individual media use, to explore what we enjoy, what we take away from a media experience, and how this affects our mental health and wellbeing.
